	Organizing for the Kingdom : The Church is not to be a body for itself. It exists to bring about the Kingdom here on earth. The Church is to do this not single handedly but in collaboration with all men of good will. One of the efforts to involve all in this kingdom task is to build participatory forums in terms of Basic Human Communities or neighbourhood communities. Says the final document of the Diocesan Assembly of the People of God 2000. "We should promote in our midst neighbourhood communities of people". "While Basic Christian Communities consist merely of Catholic families of our parishes, the neighbourhood communities include people of various religions and function in relation to civil governance structures like panchayets". "The nature and role of both should clearly be defined."
